Charlene Laidley is CEO of The Latiénne Communications Group, founder of The FutureProof Foundation, and a founding member of The Women’s Charter for Business. A passionate campaigner for women’s rights in the UK she is an elected Fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts in recognition of her contribution to promoting UK excellence internationally, enterprise, and women’s economic empowerment; so it was no surprise that in November 2015 Charlene was appointed UN Women Ambassador for Women’s Economic Empowerment.
Yet, despite all of Charlene’s accomplishments she is modest and authentic in her desire to help women, in particular, to overcome challenges; get out of their own way, and create pathways to success. Charlene’s own journey has taken her from Newtown where she was born, to New York where she studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology and began her career. Yet this is only part of her story. Charlene joined me in the studio to tell us about her journey and why she is committed to mentoring women who want to succeed!
